Day 2 - 2 Peter 1:1

This verse directly applies to my role as an CHW. Peter introduced himself as servant. One definition of a servant is “One who serves another, providing help in some manner.” It reflects humility and a sincere deep commitment to others. These are the qualities that are necessary in my role. To help others out of compassion and the desire to uplift them.

Reading this verse is a daily reminder that what I do is not just a career or a profession but a calling on my life. It’s my purpose here on life just as we see that Jesus is the ultimate example of servanthood.

Jesus said in Mark 10:45, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."

What a beautiful reminder that our work as CHWs is deeply sacred. Like Peter, we embrace the identity of a servant…not out of obligation, but out of love. Each act of care reflects Christ’s heart, who came not to be served, but to serve. This calling is more than a job…it’s a holy purpose that echoes Jesus’ own mission.
