What Are You Hopeful About for CHWs?

CHW Awareness Week is here! For the next seven days, CHWStrength is bringing weHOPE to the blog through daily conversations that recognize Community Health Workers, celebrate their contributions, and make room for what comes next.

Let’s begin with HOPE.

Community Health Workers bring knowledge, relationships, and commitment to their communities. This week offers an opportunity to recognize that work and imagine how it can continue to grow.

SHARE HOPE: What are you hopeful about for CHWs and the communities they serve?

Perhaps it is greater recognition, stronger partnerships, more opportunities, or a community where people feel heard and supported.

Complete this thought in the comments: “During CHW Awareness Week, iHOPE…”

GIVE HOPE: Read someone else’s hope and respond with encouragement, an idea, or a connection that could help move it forward.

What begins as one person’s hope can become something a community works toward together.

Together, weHOPE.

Follow the CHWStrength blog and engage with our VA CHW Awareness Week weHOPE posts October 12–18. Each engagement earns an entry in our digital gift card drawing. More engagement means more entries and more chances to win!

The drawing will take place October 19.

During CHW Awareness Week, iHOPE CHWs continue to be recognized for the value we bring to our communities. I hope we see more opportunities for CHWs to grow, lead, be included in important conversations, and be supported in doing this work long term. I also hope the communities we serve continue to feel heard, respected, and connected to people who will take the time to walk with them and not just hand them a resource and move on.
