CHW Project - Interest to work with Virginia Tech
WHAT: There is an opportunity to participate in an interview about maternal and infant care with community health workers (CHWs). This interview is a Virginia Tech research study at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (IRB # 24-472).
WHY: The purpose of this interview research is to learn more about how community health workers support mental health and social needs of women during the pregnancy and postpartum periods, and what happens in organizations that can help or hurt the work of CHWs.
WHO: You may qualify for this interview research if you are:
- A Community health worker (CHW) working or have worked in maternal and infant care
- Supervisor of Community Health Workers, or
- Administrative staff that work on programs that incorporate Community Health workers.
HOW: If you are interested, complete a screening survey (5 – 10 minutes). Eligible participants that are selected will complete a demographic survey (5 – 10 minutes) and then participate in an interview (90 minutes) that is audio recorded and held online or in-person. The total possible duration for screening and full participation is approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes.
