What Helps CHWs Thrive?

Recognizing CHWs also means listening to what helps them feel supported, valued, and able to grow.

Today’s conversation invites CHWs to share their perspectives and encourages partners and community members to listen and contribute.

SHARE HOPE: What would you like to see more of for Community Health Workers?

Consider opportunities to learn, meaningful recognition, supportive workplaces, resources, or a stronger voice in decisions that affect the work.

Complete this thought in the comments: “iHOPE CHWs experience more…”

What could that change make possible?

GIVE HOPE: Respond to a perspective that resonates with you. Share a helpful example, a resource, or one action you or your organization could take.

Listening creates an opening. Following through helps turn hope into progress. Together, weHOPE.

Follow the CHWStrength blog and engage with our VA CHW Awareness Week weHOPE posts October 12–18. Each engagement earns an entry in our digital gift card drawing. More engagement means more entries and more chances to win!

The drawing will take place October 19.

iHOPE CHWs experience more support, more respect, and more space to be seen for who they truly are.

When CHWs are valued, trained, supported, and included in the decisions that affect their work, they can keep showing up fully for the communities they love.
