The Chickahominy Health District (CHD) has been awarded funds which can be used to place Community Health Workers with non-profit organizations. Thrive Virginia, a non-profit community action agency, has been selected by CHD for Community Health Worker (CHW) placement. The CHW will provide direct services to children and their families who are impacted by health-related social needs. Focus areas of the position will include developing programming to improve access to healthcare resources, facilitating health education activities and workshops, and supporting efforts to keep the community up to date with all CDC recommended immunizations.
