The Phone Charger in Romans 1

Your phone is almost dead. What percent is it at? 51%, 34%, 10%, 3%?

You know exactly where the charger is but instead of plugging it in, you keep tapping the screen, hoping the battery will somehow recharge itself. The more you ignore the charger, the lower the battery gets. Eventually, the phone shuts down

Romans 1 is a little like that. God has made Himself known. His power, wisdom, majesty, and goodness can be seen all around us. In Romans 1:16, Paul says the gospel is the power of God for salvation. The gospel is like the charger. It gives us what we need to live the life God designed for us.

Some people see the charger but choose other things instead. They trust their own ideas more than God’s truth.

Romans 1 teaches that real life, real hope, and real purpose come when we stay connected to God through Jesus. The closer we stay to Him, the more our lives work the way they were created to work.
