iHOPE - Opportunity

National CHW Awareness Week

Greetings,

One of the things I value most about being a Community Health Worker is our ability to notice. We notice the gap between what a system offers and what a person can actually access, strengths within communities that others may overlook and relationships or solutions that are already present.

Very often, CHWs see opportunity before someone gives it a formal name. That is why today’s iHOPE focus is Opportunity.

Opportunity is not only about waiting for someone to open a door for us.

Sometimes opportunity begins when we recognize something that could exist and decide to move toward it, whether that is a new partnership, leadership role, business, community solution, training, policy change, or relationship between two people who needed to meet.

Today’s Scripture for iHOPE (Opportunity) says, “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?” — Isaiah 43:19 NKJV

That question stands out to me: Shall you not know it? What is beginning to spring up around you, what possibility are you noticing, and what idea keeps returning to you?

Then consider another important question: Who could help you move it forward? Today is where we lean deeply into collaboration.

I see what is possible

SHARE HOPE: Tell us about an opportunity you see

GIVE HOPE: If you have a resource, relationship, idea, or experience that could help someone move their opportunity forward, offer it

See an opportunity? Make a connection.

Someone in this community may be carrying the connection that helps your idea grow and you may be carrying theirs.

with gratitude,
